Premium 1:1 Dog Training
At The Canine Perspective, we understand that every dog is different and sometimes, dogs (and their humans) need a little extra help.
Whether it’s a complex behavioural problem like anxiety, reactivity towards other dogs, resource guarding, or just to work on general behaviours but in a much more personalised way – our premium 1:1 sessions might be just what you’re looking for.
Our premium 1:1 sessions are set up as a 3 session package – beginning with a 2 hour session which includes an in-depth behavioural history to address your unique goals and challenges (1 hour), and the start of the training and behaviour modification process (1 hour). Each subsequent session goes for 1 hour. A personalised behavioural modification plan is put together and a summary of what is covered and exercises to practice between sessions is emailed through at the end of each appointment. The package also includes access to Sarah between sessions via phone, email or text to share progress, ask questions and to provide updates as often as needed.
One-to-one training enables us to work closely with you and your dog to strengthen your bond, address specific behavioural issues and achieve remarkable results. If you’d like to discuss how we can assist you further, please contact us.
PLEASE NOTE – We recommend that the package be used over a 3 week or 6 week period to maintain momentum in changing behaviour (either 1 or 2 weeks between sessions), and must be used within a 3 month period.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE – Booking our premium 1:1 package also entitles you to a month FREE in our VIP (Very Important Pooch) membership. Our membership entitles you to lots of information, benefits, discounts and more! Click here for more details on what’s covered in the membership.
Thank you so much Sarah! Your advice and support has made such a difference to our confidence caring for a rescue dog. Your insights and suggestions have made such a positive difference – you really know your stuff!

Some dogs require more specialised help, especially if they are dealing with anxiety or aggression issues, or more complex behavioural challenges.
To determine whether your dog’s behaviour requires 1:1 training, you can book a free 15 min chat with us or send us a message via our contact page.
Where possible, yes. We offer in person sessions in the Northern Rivers, NSW and Sunshine Coast QLD areas. For all other areas (including those wonderful overseas dogs that need help), we offer sessions via Zoom.
Ideally, it would be good for all family members over the age of 12 yrs to be there. In this way everyone hears the same message and can provide consistency to the dog outside of the session time to aid in the dog’s learning.
Children under the age of 12 yrs are welcome to attend, however, if your child is unlikely to be able to pay attention for the full session, please ensure they have something else available to keep them occupied so that you can focus on your dog.
The initial consultation (which includes a full behavioural history) goes for 2 hrs. This gives us a good amount of time to talk with you, observe your dog and get to the bottom of what’s going on with your dog’s behaviour.
Subsequent sessions are usually 1 hr. Desensitization sessions (dogs working with anxiety and fear around other dogs) are only ½ hr in length.
Our signature Premium 1:1 Package includes the initial consultation (2 hrs) and 2 subsequent follow up consultations (1hr each). We can generally work through most behavioural issues in that time.
Our Premium 1:1 Package is a 3 session package which includes an initial 2hr consultation (where we go through a full behavioural history, behavioural modification plan and actually get started on some training!), and two subsequent follow up appointments which are each 1 hr in length.
These sessions are either done in home, or at a suitable location (if in the Northern NSW or Sunshine Coast QLD areas) or conducted virtually via Zoom (for all our wonderful canines in other parts of Australia and the world in need of some assistance).
The package also includes a summary of each session emailed through to you (so you know what we covered and what to practice), and monitoring and followup in between sessions (via email, text or phone) as needed. Our Premium 1:1 Package also entitles you to one month FREE in our VIP (Very Important Pooch!) Membership.
The package costs $997 (incl GST) and must be paid for in full prior to the start of the initial consultation (payment plans are available on request).
We recommend that the package be used over a 3 week or 6 week period to maintain momentum in changing behaviour (either 1 or 2 weeks between sessions), and must be used within a 3 month period.
Sometimes the number of sessions needed can be hard to predict – especially when dealing with behaviour modification. That’s why we offer a special discounted rate for our clients who have completed our signature Premium 1:1 Package and require further sessions.
If you have any questions or concerns about how many sessions may be needed, feel free to contact us, or discuss it with Sarah at your initial consultation.

Payment for in-person sessions (in Northern NSW and Sunshine Coast QLD) can be made at the time of consultation via cash, bank transfer, credit card or Eftpos.
Zoom sessions require payment at the time of booking. These can be done via our website here.
We understand that things happen and if you need to cancel your booking, please let us know.
Zoom sessions that have been pre-paid need at least 48 hours notice for a full refund. Cancellations less than 48 hrs, or failure to show will forfeit their payment.
In-person sessions (in Northern NSW and Sunshine Coast QLD) also require 48 hrs notice for cancellations. Cancellations less than 48hrs, or failure to show will result in the full fee being charged.
Most of the time we find that multiple sessions are needed when dealing with problem behaviours and behaviour modification, which is why we offer our premium 1:1 training as a package. Packaging up sessions sets you up for success (and makes it cheaper for you in the long run – so “win-win”!).
However, sometimes we get dogs and their humans who just require a little bit of help, or have a simple issue that only takes one session. We also offer behavioural, Greencollar and temperament assessments – which all only take one session. Feel free to contact us to discuss your needs and we will be more than happy to find a way to help you.
